I would expect them to. If Obama disappoints, they should treat him the way they've treated Bush and the way the right treated Clinton. Accountability is non-partisan.

No way could I join up with people like this. One asshat even told me to leave my state so he and his minions could turn the state "blue." This is insanity. And God help Obama if he disappoints them -- they could turn all of this angst and anger on him!
That's for damn sure!

Damn paperhouse? No Clinton style excuses granted to Obama? The man is going to mess up, all presidents do, this question is how much.

I know this cliche is thrown around a lot, but when these visions of utopia don't happen, people are going to get angry. This is not a jab at Obama, but there are a HECK of a lot of people out there right now, who literally think their life will drastically change overnight due to Obama winning. Not everyone, mind you, but many, many poor people. I feel very bad for these people as they are most likely going to remain poor. It will take a VERY long time to turn this economy around and the tax base is just not going to be there to make these promises come true.

If Obama disappoints, I do not think it will be because he tried to do behind the scenes corrupt and dishonest acts. There's a difference between a POTUS being sleazy, sneaky and corrupt or just making a wrong judgment call. Obama's campaign strategies should prove that he thinks things through carefully, so I suppose his judgment calls will not be made in haste or irresponsibly.

People's lives have changed. They have hope in their government now. Personally, I think it's the wrong hope because they want it to help them rather than get out of the way and let us help ourselves. Still, they can hold it accountable. If they don't, they're doing exactly what they accuse the right of doing now. I've got no dog in this hunt. He's my President, but he isn't my choice. Neither was McCain. I voted for Ron Paul, so you see where I stand. I want less government, not more. But if we're going down the road of expanding government even more, we need to be more vigilant than ever.

And don't forget 50% of being a great president is the people you surround yourself with. Lets face it, most presidents makes decisions on the advise of their advisors.

Yes there is. And I agree. Obama seems to be more transparent. I still remember his grandstanding against FISA and ultimately voting for it with a little speech about how it was compromise. The Constitution should never be compromised on. It is very clear. The left has accused Bush of ignoring that document. Obama's already shown his ability to do the same. And few cries of foul.

It's been a long night, but tomorrow I'm going to do a bit of research on it. There are people whose opinion that I trust that seem to think it needs to be reinstated. As I said, I want look into it before I comment again.

This is key.

I do not expect miracles, beyond the one that saw him rise to get elected. He knows and admits he has flaws, will make false starts at times, and can't do everything at once.

So do I.

What I expect is the promised honesty. What I expect is the promised effort. What I expect is the promised openness/listening to those who are not in agreement with him.

What I expect is a start, and something that the American people can work on together from there.

A working economy would be nice, too!
