That equates to more than all of the people combined that did vote.

Yes, but you brought up the 21% in order to infer that the majority of the population does not support (or did not vote for) Obama. I was just saying, that by using that logic, the American people have never supported ANY president in majority. That's why I used the term "misleading".

Dear McCain Supporters,
So sorry that John McCain lost his bid for the White House and that he will be heading back to the Senate. But let's be honest, you weren't that crazy about him, not really. And then he decided to choose Sarah Palin as a running mate. I mean what was the "Maverick" smoking that day, right?
I know that for you it is really hard to believe that a black man was able to win the presidency. I mean he is "Black" after all!! How is that possible, you ask yourself. I mean, you were always taught by your family that your skin color made YOU superior. I know that it hurts to realize that you have been fed lies for all of these years, doesn't it?
Please take some time to reflect on the fact that you "hated" Obama more than you "loved" John McCain. That's why you lost. Also reflect on the fact that John McCain was ashamed of you. He was ashamed that he was reduced to having the support of bigots and the greedmongers. John McCain was ashamed that you lacked the graciuosness that comes with being a good American, especially when things don't go you way. JOHN MCCAIN IS ASHAMED OF YOU, DISGUSTED BY YOUR NASTY ATTITUDES!
So, take some time to really reflect. Try to do a little soul searching. America will move forward and will be stronger than ever. Redirect your hatred and bitterness into positive and productive uses.
Sincere regards,
calipoppy

This in itself sounds pretty hateful and cynical to me.

Actually, it is a call for many McCain supporters to take a good look in the mirror.
Many of his supporters did hate Obama more than they loved McCain and John McCain knew that fact. He knew that he would get the votes of those who held bigoted views. I don't think that he was proud of that fact, though.
Many Republicans tend to think of themselves as superior by birthright. They tend to think that no one who holds opinions contrary to their own are worth considering. The rigidity and clannish(not in the KKK way) nature of the ultra-conservative leaves no room for others.
This does not refer to ALL Republicans but it applys to the base. And the nasty venom that they are spewing about Obama was not seen for Kerry, Gore, Clinton, etc. The distinction difference being race in Obama's case. Not really too hard to connect the dots on this one.

China? another communist country. Hmmm. As far as gun control...see where having guns takes you in most other countries in the world. Hmmmm. Guess living here is the best idea. Maybe you are in the top echelon of the tax brackets...that is why you protest so much. You might have to pay a few dollars more in taxes. Well, I don't weep for you. I am solidly within the bracket of getting a tax CUT and am more than grateful for it!!!!!!!!!!
Just for laughs, study what communisim REALLY is. compare it to socialism. You will see marked differences. Muslim? Who said that Obama was muslim? Even if he were, WHO CARES?? Oh, and just for a pointed difference...communisim requires one to be an athiest. No religion (of any kind) is allowed as it defers one's allegiance to something other than the government which requires total devotion. So to say that Obama is a communist muslim is completely irrational.
This, my friends, is why I am abandoning the conservative Christian affiliation that I truly am a part of. I choose to be educated, informed and not fall into "gossip" of what "might be". I also choose not to sling irrational hatred to my fellow man. Is Obama the right choice? Well, given what our alternative was...YES. McCain was ok on his own, but, the trigger happy beauty queen who was up on ethics charges even during the campaign (not to mention now) was the dealbreaker. At least Obama is acting like the attorney that he is...gathering all of the facts before coming to a decision and also surrounding himself with the people who are experts in the fields that he is trying to make a difference in.
give the man a chance! He is not even in office yet! You might be pleasantly surprised!

The wife:
Barack Obama will require you to work. He is going to demand that you shed your cynicism. That you put down your divisions. That you come out of your isolation, that you move out of your comfort zones. That you push yourselves to be better. And that you engage. Barack will never allow you to go back to your lives as usual, uninvolved, uninformed.
