Since when have Senate positions been bestowed as a form of political inheritance? I thought we lived in a democracy, not a monarchy. I think it's appalling.
You're largely on point; one could quibble, however, that her internship with Senator Kennedy's office, might qualify as government experience. Otherwise, her background is as a lawyer, author and lecturer, etc. Not exactly a senator's resume.

But then again, Clarence Thomas had no business being appointed to the Supreme Court.

Matthews commented Ted and Caroline Kennedy's support of Obama was the turning point in the primary against Hillary. I don't know if I believe this is true. The pols are trying to make this a Kennedy vs Clinton dynasty fight? As far as I know Hillary's staying out of this decision. They're trying to make the case that if Caroline wins NY Senate seat, it's hers for life. Clinton cannot reclaim if she leaves Obama administration. I don't see Clinton wanting the Senate seat again. She intends to make her mark as SOS. Matthews pointed out that Ethel Kennedy told Obama during the campaign "You are the torch carrier now".

Wow, she is so arrogant to try to get such a high position as her first office. She needs to start with state senator or perhaps as a representative and gain some experience and prove herself to the people of New York. She wants to just swoop in on her last name, which I think is really outrageous.

I hate to bring this up because I like Hillary BUT, isn't that sort of the same thing Hillary did?
