Yes, we've seen what a genius he is.

WOW! I didn't think it was that bad. Gotta hand it to those Republicons, nobody knows how to steal our tax dollars better than they do.

Yeah, he is still thanking Bill Gates, Steve Jobs and all the other computer geeks for the tech boom of the 90's. I think Clinton would definately agree that it is better to be lucky than good anyday! Swap Clinton and Bush 43's terms and there would be a Republican in the White house right now and Obama would still be doing his wifes laundry in chicago!

and the ability to "bloom where you're planted" quote from Hillary after her appointment as SOS. I love it.

Care to PROVE that.

The fact is, that statement is nothing but your empty opinion. You are certainly welcome to it of course - but the fact is, it means nothing.

The simple truth is, Clinton would likely have not have made the same mistakes Bush did. Bush made the choices he did because of WHO he is and WHAT he and the people around believe philosophically - but clearly you don't think it matters WHO is President, that they will all make the same choices anyway - in which case I can't see why you should have a beef about Obama - since by THAT way of thinking, ANY President would make the same choices Obama is currently making.

Better check your facts, the economy was in the TOILET when Clinton took over - hence the personal mantra Clinton had during the election to keep his focus on one single thing: "It's the ECONOMY stupid". Clinton hammered away on this issue endlessly, and Bush was unable to respond because the economy WAS in the toilet.

Bush 1 was incredibly popular after the US victory in the first Gulf War, but then the economy turned sour and the American people lost faith in him. Between the poor state of he economy and the entry of Ross Perot into the election, Bush 1 was doomed.
There was no "fertile soil" left to Clinton, not nearly.

You need to check your facts before you post. I don't know, maybe you're just too young to remember, but the economy s*cked in 1992 so Clinton inherited a lousy situation.

How has this thread gotten off topic? It is such a great topic and should be our focus. It is not often we see such a stellar performance like we did from Governor Jindal. I am sure the staff at SNL is weighing if it is suitable for their next live show. That would be next weekend. Certainly the Jindal presentation was a meaty intellectual exercise that SNL could capture and make it another Palin/Couric moment. The Palin/Couric interview was seen differently but many people and provided much good discussion on a variety of topics. The performance by Jindal might afford another opportunity for a much needed national dialog. Let's hope they open with it next week.
