Why is this important? At least Obama's speeches are coherent, thoughful and comprehensive. Three things lacking in the last president's communications.

But when the TelePrompter malfunctioned, he could still give a good speech. Without "ahhhs" and "ohhhs."

Please get facts right. Teleprompters were invented in the 1950s and has been used by every president since then. Perhaps you are not use to someone who speaks so eloquently. Bush couldn't even speak well using one.

A few lessons at a "TOASTMASTERS" CLUB can eliminate the ohs and ahas. However this does not necessarily result in a coherent speech by some one unable to understand what he is reading.
He just reads what his speechwriter writes. Or what other people tell his speechwriter to write and then he reads it off his teleprompter./QUOTE]

What was he supposed to do? Make up his speech as he went along? God only knows that the right-wing conspiracy theorists in this country would have a coronary if he didn't read every single word as written and posted online for the public's "approval."

Eventually, the extremists in this country will be outed for what they are: fear-mongers, hate mongers, racists, bigots, and xenophobes. Good riddance to them all as they continue to die out and rid our country of this scourge.

Didn't Ronald Raegan use a teleprompter?

CNN reported he had one on the headboard of his bed. It read "Who's your Daddy?"

I swear this is true.

Exactly! It's sad when you don't sound coherent while using a teleprompter.

Oh, I dunno...

I'd bet that Carter used them, too.
