Note to moderators: can we add a city forum under Oregon for Eugene, along side Portland?
Thanks... This thread/furum would be about the south end of the Willamette Valley and the Eugene area. |

I would love a Eugene forum as well. Or at least a Central Oregon forum which could include Lane County as well as Sisters/Bend... this area sure is growing by leaps and bounds.
I read in a Gourmet magazine recently that developers are looking to the Willamette Valley to begin high-end upscale hotels and resorts... reminiscent of California's wine country. Oregon is known for it's Pinot especially, and more and more people are coming here to explore the regions wines... it's only a matter of time before this area is so completely different. I think it's a bit sad that it's being discovered... but it's also exciting in some ways as well. There cannot be growth without change, so I'm told... Anyway... it becomes so tiresome... people thinking Portland is the only thing worth mentioning in Oregon... there's so much more here! ![]() |

...and I forgot to mention... do you think more people will be looking for Eugene-specific info this summer as the 2008 Olympic track trials are to be here in Eugene? It might be beneficial to those seeking info on Eugene if there were a forum set aside especially for it.

Why not a Eugene forum? Vancouver, WA has its own forum. Greater Eugene is about 1/4 million, and its the second largest city in Oregon. Some states are hacked up into a lot of forums here.

I agree that Eugene-Springfield should be given a spot (like Portland) in the Oregon forum. I say Eugene-Springfield because there isn't much separation between the two, and the combined population makes the area not only quite large (for Oregon), but a significant location. Why not ask one of the mods?
