Agreed in place like Italy for instance, you need immigrants. In Italy I know that is a big issue, where there are not enough children, potentially causing problems in the near future.

The crisis will be very good for Spain. When the crisis is over in two or three years, the contry will be leaner, with a new political organization and devoid of leftist (populist) leaders for generations to come.

Spain is not in crisis, there's no crisis here. The unemployment rate is false, does not take into account submerged economy and pre-retired are counted as unemployed.

In Spain the crisis is totally exogenous, toxic debt did not affect Spain and the Spanish financial system is sound, but the fear provoked by American crisis burst the "brick" bubble, credit dried and domestic spending fell, provoking unemployment.

It's not about productivity, but about trust. Spanish exports are growing everyday, and about 20 percent of GNP comes from investments in America. Tourism keeps growing and real estate prices is going up for the first time in years.

So, the rest of the world is wrong?
Why is getting rid of populist leaders a good thing?
Isn't a state/country about it's people?

They tend to take short-sighted decisions in order to secure/maintain control.

Sorry to say it, but Greece is sinking faster than a Dolf Lundgren movie.

You can say that about any politician or political party.
Just look at the US.

All political parties are populist? Really? Call me naive, but I like to think there are some principled parties still out there somewhere!

I don't know where you would find principled parties that support what the citizenry wants.
If you can think of any, please post them.

All political parties are short sighted, IMO.
Perhaps a few of the green parties are principled.

Eh? Isn't that the original point? That populist parties rule and it would be no bad thing for them to take a back seat to principle-driven politics.
