War promises us, that the road will be long,
Ageing faces of girls, with soot covering locomotives fronts.
Someone walking with God, and someone walking alone,
But from the single fate of the soldier, nobody can run.
My military ID I would exchange for the prewar train ticket
I would drink sea of time and by land would return, still alive...
But like the train station buzz merges with the rumble of the Universe,
So am I, adhere to the war- right before your eyes.
The explosion blast will throw us around like on the map little flags,
And not everyone is destined to survive, to hold out to the epaulettes.
For someone prepared a place in a common economy class,
For another fate booked a sleeping carriage instead.
My military ID I would exchange for the prewar train ticket,
I would give everything, what I owned- *hundred grams and soldier ration..
But as our own destinies join the generation flow,
In to this common chalice my grief is pouring in.
All are posthumously equal- patriots and cosmopolitans;
Time doesn't have deserters, the train run through to the end.
Into the vessels of earth we all poured in equal mass,
We are pulling towards the holes of the planet our bloody bodies.
My military ID I would return to the station cashier,
I would exchange it for the memory of battles fought in my heart...
But unknown soldier with the pierced star on his helmet
In his wide open eyes hiding both my rank and my name.
( The first guy actually used to be a good friend of mine - a husband of my close g.f., so I guess his band ( as old as it was) is still regarded as top 10 over there (?)
So what can I say? Good, professional sound ( Russians are good musicians, once they put their mind into something...
I am not sure I like them all that much, but "Король и Шут" ( "The King and the Jester" was more down my alley)))

This is the rating of old farts from creaking sofas.
Mavrin, Kipelov, Master and Aria are one and the same party, where musicians move to each other.
For example, Aria with Kipelov (classic heavy metal):
But in any case, it is old rusty repetition of the English sound in general. With the exception of Epidemic and Arkona. They are a later generation.
Arkona really cool, one of the founders of Slavic folk-pagan-metal. This style is known in the world, as it is a new unique sound. Most modern Russian metal bands choose this style (usually without paganism), and they're cool.

Yes, because that's what "metal" IS.

Yes, except for they don't sound "metal" any longer)))

I quite like Arkona. Masha has a great range. I found it interesting as it differs from most other folk metal bands I've heard.
Aria is a well known band as well, since they showed up back in the 80's, though a lot of people call them an Iron Maiden clone
