For fun, I decided to translate the lyrics to English. I don't know, maybe I will be banned for this but here goes:

You know what's coming for you
This is our bottle refund machine
(recyclable bottles/cans have a collateral)
Give a fiver and you can keep your bottles
If that is not OK Sirpa
(an old-fashioned female name) will rape you
And smashes your head into the wall
A black eye will be your souvenir
You will get sh**ty diapers
Drop your trousers outside the kiosk
The slot machine is my brother
What is there to say anymore?
I can sit here for the whole day
I rob grandmothers
I will drive over them with my Nissan
I knitted gloves for Make
(Finnish nickname)
He froze to death while taking a sh*t
We were ice-fishing but he started to f**k the hole
Ice-fishing and only working at night
(Implying that Make was drowned)

Chorus:
If you have a problem, f**k you already
If you have drugs
(medicine, drugs) they will drop here
The land of thousand medicine and drunkards
We will do here what we want, goddamnit
We will not stop to police sirens
We will inject until dawn

The chief of Police is my best f**k
I drink booze during that
You f**king cop don't know
Our consortium f**ks your wife
Always without a condom we f**k her bloody p**sy
One evening in Kaukovainio
(suburb in Oulu)
I f**ked Ritva
(sl*t mentioned earlier) on a pool table
We are here, don't say anything
Shut up and you might keep your kneecaps
You can steal while still being able to walk
I'm the quack, I will trim you with the angle grinder
Lots of joints for you to lose
A lot of rats as patients
Your arms and legs will be broken
That is the price to pay

When the morning comes a butterfly flies on my cheek
I'm glad to know you, I'm dead serious, and now you are

Chorus

I ordered a weapon
But the customs officials jumped me
But they didn't catch me
As the LSD moved my feet
untranslatable
untranslatable
untranslatable
For the cops i will make a trap
They will fall ... untransatable
They were caught, those gays will cry in a pool of blood
Now it's a good time to smash them with a club
This trap is not created just for fun, just fall in it
I had a get a hobby, and with pills this is my thing

Chorus x2

A bit rough maybe, but quite realistic.

Great songs! Finnish sounds bad @ss for Rap

In the 80's I was heavily into the Punk Rock scene and when we heard the first Rap (I think it was in 84) we really liked it for its lyrics. We thought of it the same as Punk lyrics because of the protest that was in it.

A good friend of mine went to a concert of Public Enemy in the late 80's. During the concert they called out for all the Dutch rappers to stop rapping in English language and just rap in Dutch because it made much more sense than imitating the Americans.

BTW, Still there? Or have you been banned

I will now listen to the Italian songs.
Listening to Finnish as someone who doesn't understnad a bit of it is weird, the song sounds decent but when they sing i almost think it's gibberish. Anyway, in Italy, it's mostly reggae, ska and punk who are on the far left and anarchism. As for rap, it depends, it's still on the left but never too far to actually be associated with extreme parties or movements.

Here's another one:

Applausi per Fibra - Fabri Fibra

https://youtu.be/0PrdA2gLaOc

A shame this artist sold his soul later on but i think it happens with almost anyone nowadays (his music still tends to be decent though) because as soon as they become successful it wouldn't make sense anymore to talk about certain things.

This guy was extremely popular in the 80's. This is one of the most emotional Dutch songs I know. It's about the mother of his girlfriend who was very ill and eventually died. There's a lot of hope and despair in this song, something that anyone that lost a dear friend or relative could relate to. A song of 1989 but now it became a classic and we still hear it on the radio and tv.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CX9xtYXJO0U

He first wrote it in English (because his girlfriend and mother were from the UK) and later translated into a Dutch song:

Tell me it isn't so

Tell me it isn’t so
Tell me it isn’t so
Tell me it is not true (2x)

Are you coming tonight to our favorite restaurant
A table for two
I’ve called, they know about it
And we drink till the sun comes up
And we forget
The unfairness of destiny

Tell me it isn’t so
Tell me it isn’t so
Tell me it is not true (2x)

Come, we’re going put your coat on
Otherwise it will be too late
Come here
I hold you I never let you go
And I tell a joke that makes you cry with laughter
And we forget
The looks of the people in the city

We pretend it isn’t so
Like it isn’t so
Like it is not true

We just pretend she keeps on living
Like she keeps on living

Even if it isn’t so

This is a song from a Limburgse band in '82 (guess I'm stuck in the 80's lol) in time of the big crisis. It's called "Solliciteren" (applying for jobs) obviously about being unemployed and having to write application letters every day.

The song is in Limburg's language which is heavily influenced by German language. I wonder if some of you that know German language can understand this a bit.

Talking about rapper, those are a couple of other songs I liked (as usual you can see that there is not any logical connection among them). So that I don't like so much the traditional rap song, they are probably quite strange songs...

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=aqqpzn8pki0
Caparezza - Nessuna razza = no race

At first it sounds like a song against racism, but it is more about the fact that the singer doesn't want to conform with the canon of his music genre.

Some lines:

I will remain in the flock (*)
only if I am the german shepherd.
Kaputt to all the rest,
I hate the process of
conformation of music and lyrics.

(* flock in a figurative sense, so it means a group of people who follow the mass*)

the refrain:

No race
I don't support any race
your majesty
zero stones against the lapidates (*killed with the stones) in the square
on the lips just a little bit of bitterness
for the ones who judged me with harshness
no race
but a sit in a coach that sprays
mud in the paths of a wood that terrorizes
who is outside of the pack (of animals) knows with firmness
every insecurity

No race
I don't support any race
your majesty
zero stones against the lapidates (*killed with the stones) in the square
on the lips just a little bit of bitterness
for the ones who judged me with harshness
no race
but a sit in a coach that sprays
mud in the paths of a wood that terrorizes
who is outside of the pack (of animals) knows with firmness
the inebriation of an head when it is curly (*the name of the singer means "curly head", so he is referring to himself).

this part is also characterized by the repetition of words with the zz sound.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_d1E1ZB1b6o
Frankie hi-nrg mc - L'ovvio = the obvious

this is a song against the "things that you do only because everyone else do it". In this case obvious means "what the people are expecting from you", or predictable things.

all the songs rounds also around a pun. In practice the italian for "baby, you have the obvious" = "baby, hai l'ovvio" sounds like "baby I love you"

You laugh if they tell you the obvious,
you tremble and have emotions if they tell you the obvious
your heart beats faster if they tell you the obvious
this because baby, you have the obvious, baby you have the obvious.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BRMNR7LwXGU
Fabri Fibra ft Gianna Nannini - In Italia = In Italy

Usually Gianna Nannini is considered as a rock singer, anyway this song seemed mostly rap to me. This is a song against the problems of Italy in practice.

Refrain:

There are things that no one will tell you
there are things that no one will give to you
you were born and died here
you were born and died here
born in the country of half-truths. X2

The rest is like this:

where are you escaping?

In Italy there are the real mafia-men
in Italy there are the most dangerous
in Italy girls in the roads
in Italy you eat home-made pasta
in Italy the burglar enter in your house
in Italy you can't find a stable job
in Italy but you kiss the crucifix
in Italy the monuments
in Italy the churches with the paintings
in Italy the people with feelings
in Italy the countryside and the kidnapping

This song is also used as an opening for a radio program called "this one is not a country for young people", aired in the late morning by one of the main radio national stations.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hax5MhyOSFg

J-Ax -Intro = introduction

It is not pure rap in this song, in particular not the refrain (and the piano and the violins of the instrumental part). Anyway, the singer is talking about the fact that he is no more young, about the evolution of his live from his first songs till this last album.

With the doubt that for my crew it was just a job
in the following years they had children, I only albums and tours
never grew up as a Peter Pan
with the labyrinthitis, alone, blocked in a studio
Han Solo in the graphite
Entered when I was really young
I firmed every contract, I trusted
as if they were my father, for me to stay on the stage was enough

Then the all of them were always on holiday
I was alone working hard
maybe I treated him as a father
while he treated me as a dad

"why do new stuffs if the people already adore you
and at the end they just fall in love with the novelty
nearly as I says "well, you are old, old fashioned
this stuff does not work if you do it at your age!"

[...]

I was in a bar wondering "what's the sense of this?
But why didn't I die young 20 years ago?

To restart from less than zero
and finally pick up the veil
and to tell you really
not the winning picture that the people tries to sell for themselves.

So what? I listened to the Italian songs and it sounded to me like gibberish too.

Indeed, punk is of course traditionally quite on the left, but Finland has a strong history of nazi punk bands too.

I liked that Fibra-song.

I found a translation of one of the songs Vasya Oblomov (he writes funny ironic song)

Boring sh*t.

https://youtu.be/8P7tW9-_Fck

Spoiler

Boring sh*t

I turn on the TV, and there it is again,
It is looking at me as if nothing happened.
The heroine has saved the entire world alone
And not the least bit tired.
Ad units are playfully jumping,
Taking movies apart.
All lovers are together, all bad guys croaked (died )
Here it is, boring sh*t...
Boring sh*t...

I turn on the radio, but then again it.
It is singing, as if nothing happened
By different tunes, but all as one,
The new songs and a lot of old ones.
That's a sad theme to a sad tune,
Listener from Nizhniy Novgorod calls,
Ask to say hello to all his friends\relatives
And he ask to play this track- boring sh*t...
Boring sh*t...

New Russsian writer, new Russian novel
The huge editions.
That's "Russian Ken Kesey", he's that guy who wrote
Russian "Catcher in the Rye".
Atracted by advertising, I bought the book
Just like that, for no reason.
I open it, leaf through, read, understand that
Here it is, boring sh*t...
Boring sh*t...

I posted this song to the Internet
And came to see how it is...
I am reading the first comment:
Hmmm....

Lot of memories comes to my mind when listening this old finnish band, "Sleepy Sleepers".
Some were saying that it was punk band, some that it was rock band and some that it was just terrible noice...But band was really popular at late 70s and early at 80s and for me it was rock band and had also purpose to give shocks and on with that they got great succeed, so that great that on some cities they were not aloud to come and have gig, also radio channels did not play records of them because they broke so many taboos
Here some of most popular records, "Swinging Chevy", "Onko järkee vai ei" ( Sense or not)" and Mr.Dampax (Tampon song)
On "Swinging Chevy" you can also see one member of the band, she was hot day dream for many guys and her artist name was "Tiina Tiikeri" (Tina Tiger)
Famous rock group "Leningrad cowboys" have roots from "Sleepy Sleepers" , LC was born when Mr.Aki Kaurismäki launch his musical comedy movie "Leningrad Cowboys Go America"
"Sleepy Sleepers" had done "Come back" wit few gigs and orginal members but like LC, Sleepy sleepers is on going project and members of the bands goes and comes, many of finnish rock persons had been members of these bands...Bands are like general picture of finnish rock.
Last video is from LC.
