So? What does that have to do with whether Romania's boring or not? btw, only once, out of 3 trips to Romania, did I see street gypsies, the kind west Europeans complain about. And btw, many of Romania's top musicians are gypsies. They don't say so publicly, not in Romania, but they are. These are extremely talented people. They are welcome in Europe, where they get invited to do concert-tours and teach music, and have devoted followings. A few have taught in American universities. They're wonderful people.
Are there really so much gypsies? My brother wants visit Romania in the Summer.
No. Romania's beautiful. Your brother should visit. There are many historic sites, castles, Roman ruins, and national parks and nature areas, and historic Orthodox churches with frescos covering the exterior and interior. If you dig through earlier threads here, you'll find several threads of photos and videos.
Also in the summer there are folk festivals in different regions. It's a culturally rich country. Beautiful architecture. Fantastic traditional music.
any ex-soviet country. they're so poor, and their government so corrupt, that they can't afford to have fun.
I'm infinitely more interested in people who visit and/or live in the ex-soviet countries than people who keep beating the Paris-Amsterdam-London kind of paths to death. I think there's a lot of cool and quirky stuff happening in those countries and they're easier on the wallet too, generally. Much better for story-telling than your trip to the Louvre are things like:

You are missing out then as many of those former communist countries has lots to offer and prices are usually a lot cheaper than in say Western Europe. Prague and Budapest in particular offer just as much historically and culturally as Amsterdam and/or Paris at less cost plus the people tend to be friendlier as well.
