It's true. Scandinavia got repopulated in part by people from Iberia, according to geneticist Stephen Oppenheimer.

There were ice age refuges in Ukraine and Romania, as well.

After the last ice age, the weather seemed to got better for a few centuries... but something happened and for about 1000 years the weather became even colder than it was during the ice age. It was the Big freeze, the Younger Dryas .

Human life was only possible in the most southern and lower altitude parts of europe.

I don't remember mentioning your uncle anywhere as far as I can remember. I'm not talking about the early European, I'm referring to a picture of a Spaniard posted by "Kantanbrian" titled "passiegos". The Early European posted on the front thread according to some people looks like actor Gerald Butler, but a skin colour that is closer to that of Africans. So please chill!

He does, more like the northern Spaniards and Basques. He has a huge nose too!

But northern Spaniards don't define the typical Spanish look (nor do most people in the north look look like him to begin with). If that guy ran around down here, some people might stare at him as if he were some sort of freak

Its OK, I was just kidding with you. Earlier I posted something like ' who would have thought it, early Europeans looked like my uncle Billy' - I have an uncle that looks a little like the guy pictured :-D

Well that could be true, but to me he looks typically Spaniard. He doesn't look like a freak, just not good-looking. He's like those bullfighters, rugged-looking.
