They recently shut down all major VPN's there including NordVPN. But, this being Russia, there might be a work around. I haven't heard of one yet though.
In order to be allowed in Russia, a VPN must comply to the nation's ability to block websites and censor content including criticism of the government (now a crime), comments on websites, music, video and even pictures of anti-Putin graffiti.
Like anything else there's good and bad. We all see what anonymity can do and do for bad actors.
I do see potential for abuses from government. I also see people potentially dying. Terrorists need to hide, people with malicious intent need to hide.
It's a balancing act. Freedom/rights vs safety/integrity.
If I use the internet while there in Moscow I won't be using a VPN. i don't have anything to hide.
Why do you guys have a dictator?
Why does Russia occupy other countries territories?
Haven't they always? With Russia, it's "the more things change, the more they stay the same".
Why does the US occupy other countries? That's what you do, if you want to prove you're a global superpower. Russia wants us to know they're still in the game.
