Poor Russian guys. Just fly to the UK and want to see nothing there but the cathedral in Salisbury. Do two very quick trips there and then immediately fly back to Moscow. By sheer coincidence Skripal was poisoned when they did their cathedral sightseeing....
Of course, they are rogues. But they are not professional killers. btw, British found 4 more people who were there the same days. "Support Group killers".
I'm even saddened that the former Empire looks so ridiculous.
Porton Downs is probably crawling with Russian spies tracking the chemical weapons specialists to Syria. They may be agents, but they were probably not the killers.
There is a bigger problem with the UK case against these two men. The police are on record as saying they arrived in Salisbury more than two hours after the Skripals left the house, contradicting the claim that they were responsible for the smearing the toxin on the door knob. The timeline for the Skripals shows they went to the restaurant and the park, but never returned to the house after they left.
My guess is that this is just to put the hot potato on the other party since the UK case is so full of lies, contradictions, and known forgeries. The Brits are hoping to score some points by trying to find something wrong with the responses.
They may be agents, but they were probably not the killers.
No. Agents are expensive piece people. To train an agent requires a lot of money and time. Why risk two agents at once? This story is complete nonsense.
1. Motivation. Skripal was in Russian prison and participated in the system of exchange of agents. His murder can break this system. What for?
2. Agents delivery means. The plane from Moscow? Are you joking? This is a 100% career agent ending. Agents use illegal migrations to enter a country or complex schemes using several intermediate states.
3. Murder without preparation. A good agent collects all data about a victim. He/she knows everything. Casual people (daughter) do not suffer.
4. Utilization of weapons. A weapon is a trace. Trace must be hidden. In this case, random people suffered. This is a bad job.
5. Movement. Agents are trained to hide their movement. These guys came across cameras and used a bad mode of transport.
Housewives and Ukrainians can believe in the story of Putin's agents. But we must be more serious. Most likely smugglers. Maybe they transported some light drugs. This explains why they did not contact reporters immediately after the news.

The motivation for the second poisoning was that the first one was an obvious fake. They had to show the toxin was lethal since that was a core error in staging the first poisoning.

Are anabolic steroids illegal in Russia? They're used in body building. I heard that that may have been what they were peddling.
The cat is out of the bag. US begs Taliban to allow it to keep just 2 bases -- Bagram and Shorabak. Why not Jalalabad, Shindand? Why Shorabak near sensitive Iran-Pakistan border? Which is equipped for tactical air traffic control units...

Ahh...
This starts making a bit more sense, finally.
I was wondering what were they buying-reselling/supplying/whatever to their *customers* in Russia.
These two come across as some shady dealers, who are NOT happy to be exposed by accident, but mainly for this reason. ( The other reason - one of them is a typical introvert, who hates to be in the center of attention. At the end of the RT interview I even laughed, because when they expressed their doubts, what future awaits them, and the journalists suggested that they'd become the "heroes of the talk shows" his reaction was sorta "yeah, right. That's just what I need."
So I agree with Maxim.
This is not serious.
What I sill can't understand though, is the whole story with the SECOND poisoning of that British couple.
So they found ( supposedly) a new package of Nina Ricci perfume in some "donation bin," and then the woman *who knows and likes this perfume,* opens the package, doesn't recognize the scent ( I mean can you confuse the scent of French perfume with "Novichok?") - yet she still proceeds rubbing her wrists with it.
And then her surviving partner conveniently forgets where he even got this bottle from.
Now THIS whole story sounds really fishy to me.

LOL, yeah that's it. Russian men go to Salisbury to buy "light drugs" at UK prices because drugs are that hard to find in Russia. Maybe some foolish westerner could believe such a fairy tale
Your only defense seems to rest on the myth that Russian agents would be professionals like in James Bond movie. Nope, this actually fits the pattern of their guys.
