"2011 gave the biggest emigration figure ever, even larger than 1887’s mass exodus to America."
"As with previous years, SCB reported that the most popular destinations for Swedish emigrants were the Nordic neighbours, the UK and the United States."
Well 2011 was before the migrant crisis so there was obviously another reason for that. And the UK wouldn't be a good place to go to avoid Muslim immigrants.

As someone else mentioned, the report is old...
Another thing happening is that northern Europeans are retiring more and more in southern Europe. Mostly because of the EU and the fact that they generally easily can.
Yes lets hope all brits and Irish emigrate to Australia or something, so they stop doing all those stag parties in continental europe and stop ruinining eastern european capitals and second/third-tier cities. Being rude to young women, and having overly agressive behaviour with complete lack of maneers is something that should not be tolerated.
My answer is : yes, of course. In France for instance, the brain -drain is phenomenal ; we export brilliant young professionnals (the most talented, risk-prone of the young generation who are dreaming of creating startups in the Anglo world ) and we import (massively) third world populations (often moslems) or illiterate Romanian gypsies!
In the long run in my opinion Western Europe is doomed. It's going to fall back into the Black Ages as a consequence of a consequence of a combination of facts : not only mass immigration from Africa and the Middle East, but also because in essence the older local population has lost faith in the future and in the virtues of its own civilization.
Western Europe is inherently suicidal.
Not sure if the immigrant crisis of this past year will encourage emigration out of Europe in the next few, but I do know that tax policy tightened ever further from already asphyxiating levels in certain European countries starting in 2011 and I know of many tax refugees here in my city and elsewhere in the US, including Italians, French and Swedes.
Among Swedes, I also hear of complaints about restricted access to specialized health care.
I have read that record numbers of Jews have left France in recent years to go to Israel (possibly also the US too, but not sure).
Just yesterday I met a man from Italy who told me he left Rome in 2014 to come to the US for the sake of his young daughters, specifically citing the 'migrant crisis'.
Until now, almost all of them cited economic/taxation reasons, not to mention droves of young graduates and entrepreneurs looking to start careers and businesses, but this man, who says he takes taxation in stride, is the first one I've heard specifically cite threatening migration as his reason for leaving Italy.
So far anecdotal to be sure, but I wonder how many more there are.
Next step is sell his apartment in Rome, now completely locked up, and buy in the US.
I doubt anyone will emigrate from Europe because of the situation in Sweden.
