A song called Heroes won twice in the last couple years
Well sooner or later the same competitiveness that's homogenizing the contest will force countries to bring unique stuff to stand out.

It should have been rended as a beauty contest, France would maybe have more chance, with that "song", I don't even think we will make it on the results.

France is a big masochist, she can't stop humiliating herself. Each year she find a way to do worse than the year before.

Well it's not like Eurovision is known for the quality of all the songs nowadays.

True. But even if it's not in the same scale as in the UK, most French really like to make fun of it.
I much prefer when we send satirical groups like Les Fatals Picards or Tellier instead of this crap. At least we can have a good laugh.

The problem now I think it's that the people who decide who will represent France, take this contest seriously and still hope every single edition, for some kind of miracle, last year they choose a depressive song (it was last year right ?) and now they choose this... thing.

Would you feel terribly offended if I say I don't hate this song?
The lyrics are horrid though.

I think it's better than Germany's entry.

The trend we've seen in Eurovision since the semi-finals were introduced in recent years, is that "the big 5" (UK, France, Germany, Spain and Italy) have done poorly in the contest for some reason. It could be because their songs get less exposure due to the automatic qualification to the final. Most Eurovision fans follow the semi-finals also and become familiar with the songs before the final.

didn't even know there was a "big five" ((lol) i knew there was something about France never pulling out of competition for some reason, now i think i know why (lol)), show how much i care about this. but still, i still have some good memories about this show, I liked Emmelie de Forest's "only teardrops" and also that funny song from Greece, I absolutely don't know the lyrics, just the refrain, "alcohol, alcohol is free".... (there is a link about it somewhere)
