I have heard of Muslims in Europe who stray away from the faith or even convert to Christianity. Does this happen a lot? I assume this happens a lot with Muslims who were born in England, France, and other European countries.

You do realize that not all Muslims are even religious right? It is a spectrum like in all other religious groups. Some can become more religious and some become more liberal. Lots of the behaviour ex fashion choices and social behaviours are also related to culture and not exactly religion. If you actually look any other religios group if you be broken down the same way.

I was born Catholic but not from a religious devout family and when meeting other people tgat ate Catholic I can seriously see the huge spectrum. Some people just go with the flow in whatever country they are in and are not interested in being very in to their faith.

If someone asks what religion I am I still respond Catholic because I was conditioned to identify as Catholic.... but that has nothing to do with my views on topics like abortion, same sex marriage..... and lots of other topics.

Nobody knows, as after 1945 collecting data on peoples' race and religion hasn't really been popular in Europe for a very specific reason.

I've heard that especially some who came during the migrant crisis have converted to Christianity. There's just not any hard stats available.

apples and oranges , a far higher percentage of muslims are deeply devout than catholics , add to that , islam is a belief system which informs every aspect of a persons life , not comparable to catholicism or any branch of christianity

I don’t think it’s that different. You can chose which parts to have in your daily life. At least that’s what I do. After all Verse 256 of Surah Al-Baqara is “ there is no compulsion in religion”.

That’s what it’s like nowadays, but in the past the different Christian denominations played a much larger role in the daily lives of people.

Most Persians living abroad don’t care about Islam as they view the religion as an invader to their land. Persian culture greatly predates the arrival of Islam.
