No. The Eastern European countries politicians/political elite are scared to death of the bigger powers around them. Look at their history, nothing but back stabbing and throat cutting. Sucking up to a power like the US provides them with protection and the means of intimidation if needed. The elite are seeking security and to maintain their power and thus their profitable careers by sucking up to the US and others.

Violating airspace, poisoning opponents on foreign soil, blowing up an ammunition warehouse on foreign soil, propping up far left and right parties and groups all over Europe, jailing and killing opposition party members, invading neighboring countries.
