But yeh, you can not overeat calorie wise very easily if you know the menu. The cookie eaters are on to nothing. People who balance calorie loads AND nutritional quality...they are on to something.

l.

Well, sure. But the OP specifically mentioned the overweight cookie buyers. I was only pointing out that the cookie eaters might actually be eating less calories than some of the sub eaters..

Thats about the same as a whopper.

If you want to go with the less healthy selections of both types of places:

Burger King WHOPPER Sandwich Versus Subway 6 inch Spicy Italian Sandwich - Calorie, Fat, Protein, Fiber Information

Its not the healthiest thing to avoid knowing how to manage your salt intake but it most certainly will not make you fatter. You still are not getting any veggies in with that whopper. It has more saturated fat and is a much higher calorie load as well.
I think you are missing the point - many people, including apparently the OP, are under the misconception that Subway is healthy. It's not. Yes, you can lose weight eating Subway. Doesn't make it healthy. Comparing Subway with the worst chain restaurants in America to doesn't change that.

You can lose weight on a Twinkie diet. It doesn't make it healthy!

Subway is a crap company and their food doesn't make up for that. I stopped eating there a year ago and will probably never eat there again.

I like Subway sandwiches well enough but I don't necessarily view them as "health food" or vastly superior nutritionally to other fast food fare. I like to get the toasted turkey pepper jack wraps as a (very) occasional treat. Until this thread, I didn't even know that Subway sold cookies. But I might be tempted to try one of those next time, they sound good.

I loved the cookies in high school! McDonald's cookies are actually pretty good too (the chocolate chip ones). They have the right brown to white sugar ratio.

I haven't had one since probably college. I am too cheap to go to subway. The $/satiety ratio is way off for me.

One word of warning. Get 'em fresh or relatively fresh. Every once in a while I get the stale one. It's edible but not so enjoyable.

Then why did you compare with disingenuous information earlier in the thread?

Realistic dieting works over idealistic dieting if you are looking for life maintenance. Turn a blind eye to food and just label it as bad is what gets people in the situation where they totally fall off the diet wagon instead of staying in control with the food options they have at hand.

There are so many levels of purity in diet. A raw organic foodie would call what everyone eats garbage etc.

This thread is about keeping weight in check. Which you most certainly can do at subway very easily. You can even squeeze in a cookie and not break your calorie limit. The sodium limit for healthy people under 50 is 2,300mgs. The healthy subs are 750mgs(chicken) 310mgs(veggie) and 2 servings of veggies.

And actually the op asked this:
"I mean you are at Subway for supposedly healthier options right?"
Which is a yes when you compare it to other fast foods.

Yeh. It is pretty crazy how subway's calories are all over the board. And now I wonder what sub they got. LOL!

Do twinkies come with two servings of veggies? Fiber? Protein? Nutrients?

You don't get why overweight women eat cookies...

I don't get why overweight women wear skin tight clothes
