I was wondering if when your muscles are sore after a workout do you need to wait until they are no longer sore to work those muscles again? How much rejuvenation time do you need, especially for the legs and since I've read that muscle building happens during rest?

Like every other day, regardless if you're sore still?

Think it also depends on your age. I'm well into my 40's and I have had really good gains only lifting on Mondays & Thursdays.

Many people have wondered about this and I don't think anyone knows for sure. I tend to still workout if I'm sore and it helps to get eliminate soreness. OTOH, it could be better to wait to exercise the same muscles until the soreness goes away. It would require a research study to know for sure and the study would probably require muscle biopsies to determine what actually occurs when you exercise sore muscles. It will be interesting if anyone has a citation on a study looking at this.

Thank you. I'm sort of new to this so I don't know anything.

Workout through soreness unless you feel strain or pain.
