I've been incorporating more strength training exercises in my routine to get more toned, but I don't want my legs to get that muscular. They have a good amount of muscle on them already, but I want them to be lean.

I don't want them to look like this:

I instead want legs that look like this:

I'm not tall, so my legs may never look like a model's, but I prefer the slender, toned look.

Any tips? Which set of legs do you think are more attractive?

There is a huge difference between those two pictures. Keep in mind that girl in the first picture is likely flexing.

You don't go from muscle-less to that first picture overnight, or even in a year.

The first woman squats and deadlifts regularly and eats a lot of food. The second might do lunges or step-ups and doesn't eat a lot of food. Meaning the first one didn't accidentally get legs like that, she specifically trained and ate for it and the second one is a genetically gifted person that loses weight through diet, not exercise.

I agree, if you want lean it's through a fat reducing diet. If you want muscle, then you must eat and left heavy.

A lot people think if they just merely lift a little weights muscle will automatically grow; it's not that simple there's more to it.

The girl in the 1st pic has spent years eating in a surplus and specifically training for that. She can probably overhead squat her weight, whereas most women need months to do that with just an empty barbell

Its like saying you want to learn hockey but don't want to end up at a college-level team.... Ain't gonna happen by accident

Miranda is very low bmi and doesn't really weight train. Are you 5'10 or higher? Otherwise its basically diet.

I've been doing heavy squats, deadlifts, and other accessories for about 8 years with the exceptions of my babies . Tons of kettle bells too. I use a range of 90-110lbs and 28-32kg for the bells. I'm 5'5 and 132lbs. If you are shorter like me then that is a good way to go, I'm sure even with 10lbs less they'd be leaner. I don't eat in a surplus, just to maintain

As a man I like something in between muscle bound and skinny.

Neither one of 'em.

As others stated, you will really have to go out of your way to weight train and eat good for years to even come close to the first pic; I have no idea why people think large muscles/body builder type things are something easy and quickly to come by.
