Hello, former runner, 40 miles plus a week. Pulled calf, rested 6 months, resumed running, pulled calf again. Now approaching year. Have been rehabbing but afraid to try again. Anyone else go through this and what did you do. Must add, male 59 years old.

Did you tear it as per the title of the thread or did you pull it? And what have you been doing regarding rehabbing?
Not sure, but...I was unable to walk for up to 2 days, lots of pain. Wasn't able to walk normal for a week. As far a rehab: calf strength, toe raises, jumps, walking, etc.
Went to Ortho 8 months ago, when I re injured it...Told me bluntly: you've been running for 40 years, you had a good career, but you're done...
You might get a second opinion from a different Ortho. And certainly listen to what your body is telling you.
