I see many body weight, dumbbells workout videos. Are they enough to gain massive size. I'm 5'7" and 110 skinny. Please advice. Thank you

Progressive overload is required to gain muscle mass, yes.

You might never gain massive size.

Also eat more proteins. Naturally thin or lean people are likely to have a faster metabolism than others. This means that you will need to start eating more to build muscle.

You and most people are unlikely to gain massive size. As McBain pointed out, you need a lifting plan based on progressive overload, which means gradually increasing the weight you lift. You need to lift as heavy as possible with good form in the 5- to 12-rep range.

Compound Exercises + Progressive Overload + High Protein Calorie Surplus Diet. This formula develops an impressive physique even for the average person. Dumbbells are fine for certain exercises, but to get the proper range and be able to effectively progressively overload, barbell will be key.

Regarding looking massive, it depends on what one defines as massive. If you're thinking the Rock, WWE wrestlers, Mr. Olympia level body builders, then do the above and get on steroids.

No, you just have to stress your muscles enough to grow. You could stay at the same weight and do more reps, stay at the same weight and increase the timing of your eccentric/concentric, stay at the same weight and change something minor about the movement, all are ways to grow.

You don't have to do compounds, you don't have to increase weight, that's all unnecessary but does help if you choose to do it.

This is 100% true (time under tension), but for the sake of convenience and progress, I would tell a new person to stick to progressive overload and compound movement.

Push yourself, but do not have to go crazy.

Just work and gradually build yourself up, be content with the results you get.

Lots of people in the same spot, and they want those jacked results and want them quickly.

That is why lots are hopping-on the Vitamin-S/PED-bandwagon.

If you're 5'7” and 110 lbs, and if you're fully grown, you're probably not genetically set up for ”massive size”, nor is ”massive size” necessarily a good goal anyway.

Your objective should be to be strong and lean. However big your muscles get, is how big they get. Don't forget, physical fitness is a collection of:

- Long distance endurance (aerobic)
- Short distance endurance (semi-anaerobic)
- Sprint speed (anaerobic)
- Maximum load strength (the heaviest thing you can lift)
- Repetitive load strength (can you dig a ditch?)
- Flexibility
- Balance
- Eye-hand coordination
