Yes, if you have the determination you'll do fine. Most seasonal employers are starting to hire in April. That just opens up all kinds of jobs in Fairbanks, Anchorage and other places. I've car camped in April. Not fun but you're not gonna freeze to death.

I just remembered that a lot of companies that hire via coolworks also provide housing as part of your wages.

If I were the OP I would be going for one of those first - living on the cheap and saving up s much as I could. Granted, not sure who is hiring right now though.

Hold off until April. In the meantime apply for tourism jobs. They are relatively easy to get if you have a clean record and are physically capable of doing the work and usually start in April. Stick it out where you are for 3-4 more months and your chances of landing on your feet in Alaska are much greater. And at least if you don't land on your feet you probably won't freeze to death.

sorry if this has been mentioned. I don't know about Acura but my car is fine to start in -15F with no modifications. If it is really cold you might want to throw something in front of the radiator to prevent airflow so it stays warm at idle. My truck had specific screw on plastic radiator cover that worked well. I would advise filling up with gas nightly just for safety (that is, you don't want to worry about it running out of fuel in the middle of the night) and not parking too far away from services in case something happens.
