I am soooo glad that women don't have to wear them anymore, but I'm a live and let live person. If others love them, it doesn't bother me a bit.
Well that I can understand. I run cold so it's never been an issue for me, but the way some folks talk about it you'd think it was the difference between wearing a shirt or going topless. I read some of the comments under the linked article and they're full of (presumably) men going on about how sexy pantyhose look and feel and how disgusting pale, blemished legs are out in public.

I find the strong aversions on both sides very strange.

LOL I know what you mean. We learn about MANY strange aversions on this forum though, don't we?!

Last time I wore hose (funeral) I ended up taking them off and stuffing them in my purse. At the wake after of course, not in church!

So... in the final analysis, have they made any sort of comeback? Are more women wearing/buying them?

I've seen lots of articles about how the pantyhose industry hoped to make a comeback but nothing about if that actually happened or not? I'd say that I haven't seen more people wearing hose and we are moving into the summer season.....

I don't think so, though I just have anecdotal evidence. It may be a regional thing but here in the northeast the only women wearing hose are the ones with rigorous dress codes (e.g. lawyers in court) and older women.

I am in my early 30s and no one my age wears them around here, though most people I know, myself included, work in a business casual environment. We wear tights and boots in the winter and then go bare legged in warmer months. I am OK with wearing tights but I can't get behind hose/nylons designed to match flesh color. It looks dated to me, but to each their own.
