My last couple of pairs of shoes have all been BOC Born Concept (?) . I've got a brown pair and a black pair I've had for several years now and they've worn well. I'm currently a SAHM so I needed something I can wear with jeans, casual pants and wool skirts with leggings/tights in the winter.

From an environmental standpoint - I really oppose the idea of "throwaway" clothing or shoes...

For what it's worth, most of my shoes (and clothing) are actually donated or given away. it's rare that I actually have to throwaway these things--if they have torn are otherwise worn out to the point they are literally unwearable (i.e. obvious holes/tears, bleach marks, no sole left).

I care about the environment too, but I'm not going to overspend for flip-flops especially since my climate reduces me to wearing them for only a season, or less than half the year, at most.

I wasn't expecting "throwaway" to be taken so literally, but rather something I won't care as much if it doesn't last as long or breaks on me. There's a place for "regular" stuff, not just expensive or high end.
