Sorry everyone I meant no offense to anyone and did not mean any harm. I will refrain from repeating myself in the future. I guess I am done on this forum.

Yes, I'm wearing a white blouse that's a little sheer for an outdoor event and I'm planning to wear a camisole on top (same principle as wearing a half slip). I also agree with the poster about panty hose in the winter. I wouldn't go to an interview in a suit and bare legs in the winter. Nor in the summer, for that matter. Picture wearing a black wool suit to an interview or funeral or formal work meeting and having bare legs poking out under the skirt.
I hate the full pantyhose but the stockings and garter belt are super sexxy.
I can't think of the last time that i wore a slip, i'm sure over 20 years!
I had no idea that pantyhose was out of fashion with the young. If you have pasty white legs, is it considered to be fashionable? Since I can't afford fake leg tanning, I think thigh-high tinted pantyhose is best for me.
I absolutely wear a slip with unlined dresses and skirts. The slips made out of satin-like material clings a bit in hot weather so I don't wear see-through dresses then.
I'm 64 and haven't worn a slip or pantyhose in decades since I moved out of the midwest to warmer climates.
I wear summer dresses quite a bit but haven't had the issue of clinging or see through fabrics.
I think a lot of this is regional. I don't think my thirty-something year old daughters have ever bought pantyhose.
When I wore skirts and dresses I always wore a slip, even, or especially with, heavy skirts (they drape better). Just more comfortable that way. Haven't worn pantyhose since I was in my 20s, but wore tights when wearing my heavy corduroy skirts in winter - fleece lined tights. In summer, nothing on the legs, but always a slip. My skirts were ankle length.
These days I can't be bothered with all that. Pants are easier on my arthritis.
