To me, a blonde is someone who has naturally blonde hair. Yet I hear women being described as a 'blonde' when in fact they clearly have dyed blonde hair.

Depends on how it's meant.
I dye my hair blonde, but it's naturally quite dark brown.
I'm not "a blonde", yet my hair "is blonde"-
it starts to get rather pedantic to debate the finer points of hair color nomenclature...

No, you should call her a liar, fraud, and charlatan! How dare she pose as a blonde!

Um, yeah, sure, call her blonde, whatever. Why is this a big deal?

You're pointing her out in a crowd of women in a sea of black dresses...."that blonde with the updo and green necklace." Of course she's going to be called blonde.

And to me and probably to most of the world, a blonde is someone who has blonde hair, natural or otherwise.

In response to the OP, Yes, I think that she should. However, if you're that into natural blondes, then you can call such women "faux blondes."

They call them "bottled blondes".

Keep in mind a lot of bottled blondes had natural blonde hair most of their life and it just got darker blonde/light brown as they got older. So they lighten it.

There are "natural blondes" and "blondes". Does it really make any difference? The hair color is still blonde.
