I with no split second hesitation would prefer beautifully dressed, combed, make-upped and hairdo-ed insecure person over arrogant jerk in pajamas who think her unbelievably high value lets her visually and aesthetically assault surrounding people.
So now the public pajama wearers are arrogant jerks? Really? Visual assaults?!
It is no concern of mine if people feel like they need to look perfect at all times. I do what I want when I want and that includes how I dress or look. Sometimes I am fixed up in public, and other times I am not. I have no problem with running to the store with no makeup, hair in a ponytail, and shorts or gym clothes. Pleasing other people is not important to me.
If it were up to me the movement towards being casual and pretty much anything goes would end and we would go back to the 1950s era where women would not leave the house without being well dressed and wearing makeup.

You might change your mind after you go through the routine once:>)

I haven't cared what anyone else thinks since I was about 10 in the real world it my appearance affects someone else's day it is their issue not mine.
I guess I've never truly thought of judging someone's character upon what they chose to look like in public. Maybe it's because I've gone through so many phases - Hippieish in high school, to always looking professional with slacks and button down shirts, wearing PJs to fill up with gas, Jeans and a t-shirt 100% of the time, to wearing skirts and dresses 100% of the time.
I respect a person's freedom to look however they chose in public. I think if someone is dressed or looks a certain way that makes me turn my head and recognize them, I say more power to them - whether they look like they're going to the Academy Awards, or if they look like Marilyn Manson! I love seeing people looking all sorts of ways that show their individuality!
