Say it’s 100 degrees outside. You can wear shorts or flip-flops/sandals, but not both. Which would you rather give up? If you give up shorts, then you have to wear jeans or another type of long pant. If you give up flip-flops/sandals, then you have to wear sneakers or another type of closed-toe shoe.
Regardless of temperature, I dont wear sandals in a public setting that isn't a beach or pool, so thats what I'd give up.
I don't really like wearing shorts either for that matter, but once the temperatures approach the high 80s I generally decide to forget that and wear them anyhow.
The only time I ever wear sandals is beach/pool or taking my dog outside in the morning. I don't wear shorts that often either (just the peak of summer) but I'd rather give up the sandals I guess.

When not at work I wear shorts as soon as it warms up to 55, and until the first frost in the fall. I rarely wear sandals except when I come in for the evening, and never flip-flops.
Silly question/poll. Why would I have to give up one?
Sorry, but I am a critical thinker and need know WHY on stuff like this. Also, being in Los Angeles and a frequent beach goer, I cant imagine why anyone would think of HAVING to give up one.
