My theory is that certain articles of clothing are automatically assigned to old people just because people see old people wear them. You take the same style and have teens and women in their 20s wear them and they become cute and sexy. I can think of a number of things including shoes, hats etc.
Lol, certain patterns scream older people clothing.Stretchy elastic pants, anything from sag harbor, some st.john's bay, shirts with side pockets, tight fitted sweatshirts with flowers on them.
Now many older women wear the same clothes as me.
Depends on the person. My mom wears old style capris.
My aunt wears the same clothes if not better than me.

I cannot see any of those things becoming cute and sexy when on teens....
Personally, I think it's cute. I like men in those types of caps and can't stand baseball caps.
Old people clothing is usually made for comfort and ease of getting dressed and undressed. A simple sweatshirt is easy to put on, doesn't need buttoning, doesn't need ironing, is soft and comfy. Dress it up with a theme and you've got a perfect old person's top. Nothing wrong with that if that's what they need but I like to see people wait as long as possible before they start wearing the uniform. Uniform=themed sweatshirt, sweatpants, and sneakers.
