Thankyou for the tips. I will try the base and top coat. Wearing gloves may not be so practical as I type all day on my job. But will have to try the base/top coat.
White vinegar, or apple cider vinegar? Or does it matter?
I started using ILNP years ago, and I never once looked back. Nothing else compares.
I've always worn dark colors with dark clothing, largely because I'm very fair with very dark hair and eyes. So when I discovered ILNP I was overjoyed! They have so many colors that are both formal and pretty, with my favorite of their shades looking like the backs of beetles: dark but shiny, with iridescent shades of greens, blues and reds.
I cannot overstate the value. It is the highest quality nail polish you'll ever use, and you will never be able to wear OPI/Sally/Essie ever again. They just feel like cheap frauds after ILNP.
As a disclaimer, I've worn nail polish for so long, so consistently, that I can't remember when I didn't wear it. I prefer a very light concealer mostly just to protect my skin, but nail polish is something I cannot do without.
OK - flame me if you wish. Guy here, older if that matters, I get regular pedis and wear color on my toes. Just something I enjoy, and I like the look. I’ve experimented with a number of colors I really liked, but my go-tos are medium to darker blues. I’m mostly indifferent to brand, but OPI and Essie seem to be quite durable and offer a great variety of colors.
I have never tried ILNP......but that's the same way I feel about Smith & Cult when I DIY it....
Well dammit, now I have to go buy everything they have.

You do with your nails and toes what you want to do with them, and anyone who gives you problems can just **** off.
I know a lot of men who wear nail polish, or at the very least, a base coat.
Also, Younger Coldwine was a stone-cold fox whose attention would have been immediately captured by a man with nailpolish on his toes. Or his nails.
I'm not happy to say this but I've taken off all my nail polish on my fingers and toes. Since the salons closed I've been doing my own nails with base coat, color and topcoat. I know how to properly care for my nails and cuticles but the chipping and constant color upkeep was too much. I wear gloves when doing housework but I'm still washing my hands so much more now and the home nail polish (even ILNP) with the chipping that goes along with it just didn't work for me. I'll eagerly await the re-opening of the salons but until then, I'm just going to keep them color free and use a clear coat to protect them. At least if there are chips, they won't be noticeable. When the pandemic first started I tried glittery polish and it seemed to adhere longer than the matte polish but I really didn't want to wear sparkles every day.
