I can understand, why her advisers (maybe) were against an "all black" dress or outfit for this joyous occasion.
But here there's a woman still in mourning, and trying to show respect.
She might have thought, that a "SPLASH" of color would "pick it up" a bit.
Doesn't this make sense ?
I would think she chose this dress several weeks ago at least.

It seems like there should have been someone on the staff with expertise on clothing appropriate for TV, etc.

Default Focusing on the DRESS...

It was simply a weird look, on stage, on camera, in the lights. I thought she had something glowing on the dress....it just did not work, in that setting, on camera.

I understand she wanted to coordinate the colors, and the black and red is a good mix (one of my faves in fact). But that geometric design, even on the original, never would have made it into the dressing room had I been the shopper.

As far as the fit, I wouldn't call M "large", but she certainly has some healthy hips, and that dress did nothing to hide them.

That said, she is generally a snappy dresser, so I'm sure she'll provide a lot of fodder for the the fashion industry media.

Apparently she attended a parent-teacher conference yesterday wearing a baseball cap.

After the weeks/months she has had I can overlook this if it doesn't happen again. If that is her style then I suppose I will just have to learn to live with it.

I do not find her attractive either. She is a very, very weird looking woman with eyes of a Wolf Spider. She reminds me of the scene in Beetlejuice when the man and woman were standing in the bridal attire on the dining room table and their faces turned into that odd looking creepy plaster with the punched-in eyes, right before the faces cracked apart. Just my opinion.

Yipes!!!! I hate to say it, but that was one ugly dress. It might have looked better in front of a mirror, though. I hope sombody takes her in hand with the fashion bit. Thank God I'm a country girl and I don't have to worry about that BS.

That pattern looks JUST like the markings on a Black Widow spider.

Black Widow.

Maybe she was trying to make a statement. Here's an interesting one---The splattered red with the giant X in front of it= the end of bloodshed?
I've read on some other forums that those colors represent anarchy/socialism. I'm from Latin America...those colors are way, way familiar. Interesting that the designer was a Latino?

I'm just giving my thoughts on this dress - I'm not trying to start any debates nor am I flaming anybody.
