LOL, maybe it is! My sister and I have the same purse!
Of course, I didn't say that I didn't have 10 or 12 purses that cost $30 or less ... ... all of which are of varying ages and conditions. But I agree with the person who said they didn't want to spend a lot on something that winds up on the floor of the car/restaurant/kitchen/bathroom/etc.
See you add all those purses up you have the money for a designer purse.
I don't buy alot of them new I buy most of my second hand. So what would one designer bag be to add to my collection of bags. Plus I like it that means alot that I like the purse.
I don't really use my bags a whole lot anyways. So one designer bag that is going to last me along long time. With a few of my cheapo's in between to change my mood every now and again.
I'm not into status I'm more into I like the design alot. With it being so well made I just may put out some dough when it goes on sell and have the design I like so much for along long time. I really really want that Cole Haan Whitney purse.

I've paid $250 for a Fossil messenger bag. It is well-made, has beautiful leather grain, and five years later I still use it throughout the year. It did a jaunt through Europe with me and fit everything I needed including a camera, binoculars, travel guides, plus all the little souvies that I'd buy during the day. That's the absolute most I would ever spend.
My newest purse is a $150 Tignanello bag from Macy's. It's cute and roomy and just perfect for concealed-carry, which is a huge issue for women who need a purse for that purpose. The purses custom-made for that purpose are usually awful ... just awful.
My conscience won't allow me to spend more money, but to those who can go for it, I say you go, girl!
Have never spent more than $250 for a purse. I like my money inside the purse . We spend money on houses, and education for my sweetpea. Other than that, we live pretty simply.

Normally $20-$25. I like a simple purse with the pockets I need in it to carry certain things in it and built in wallet that goes with it.
I don't go for fancyness (if that's even a word) or anything like that. It has to be a purse I can carry with me anywhere (to the grocery store, the club, out of town, etc). And of a neutral or black color (because it will go with anything I wear).
