Where can I find small historic homes in NWA?

Thanks for the most recent responses....I will check into Sulphur Springs, Gravette, Prairie Grove AR etc.

As for Laurel, MS I checked it out a few years ago. Great houses, but Laurel is turning into Waco like on Fixer Upper due to Ben and Erin (I visited their shop while there). The problem with Laurel is the same problem I had with Hattiesburg....no decent airport, affected by New Orleans hurricanes, too hot, etc.

I also have visited Oxford, liked it, but no decent airport and seems like the most expensive town in MS. I also went to Bay St. Louis and talked to homeowners who had their houses destroyed in hurricanes. I have purposely avoided any places too close to the coast....we were evacuated from New Orleans in Hurricane Camille, the worst storm until Katrina and hurricanes are only getting stronger and more frequent.

So I am trying to find a compromise bc a town not slammed by storms, with enough cultural activities and restaurants and a small cute cottagey kind of house even if it's not the same style as New Orleans shotguns.
