I use to spend most of my time in Payson and some in Flagstaff, with not really much time in Prescott. Now that I've spent more time in Prescott , I like it better than Payson. I've done alot of hiking and nature exploring in all 3 , and the rim is pretty nice , but theres something about the type of Pine forest regions you find in the highest elevations in Prescott that I prefer over the ones in Payson. Prescott also has more to offer than Payson is another reason I prefer it over Payson now. Reading on the type of pine forest Prescott area has , I have read it has a Sierra Madre influence . I think it looks similar to some California forests.
