5.Florida's only mid-sized city is Miami....it's not that big bro. Houston is bigger, NYC is bigger, LA is bigger, Chicago is bigger, Philly is bigger, Phoenix is bigger, Dallas, bigger and on and on. Miami is smal
Miami's metro is 5 million people and the density of miami is 11,000. There are many established areas in miami that are historic more so then most cities in florida period. Miami is a large metro and a somewhat large city so its not a pathetic example of sprawl gone wrong.

Other than that most people usually move to florida because of Weather, Cheap Land, and the fact of others moving there

My goal eventually is a week in Nov. and a week in March. That would be plenty.

I never thought I would end up living in Florida but here I am. For us no state income tax, relatively cheap real estate on a canal that leads to the gulf, great fishing, beaches, quiet with easy traffic (we came from Atlanta) and fantastic weather for a big portion of the year (for the last month all our windows and sliders have been wide open).

We do miss the vistas in North Georgia and the resturants were better in Atlanta but don't regret the move for one minute. Florida has been treating us very well.

Your argument sounds very similar to mine for Texas... I could almost use exactly what you said with a few words changed..

((I never thought I would end up living in Texas but here I am. For us no state income tax, relatively cheap real estate on a bayou that leads to the gulf, great fishing, beaches, big city with lots of jobs and a strong economy (we came from Tennessee) and fantastic weather for a big portion of the year (for the last month all our windows and sliders have been wide open).

We do miss the rolling hills and mountains in Middle and East Tennessee and the people were friendlier in Nashville but don't regret the move for one minute. Texas has been treating us very well. ))
