I don't write the lists. It is apparently developed globally and measures all cities that meet the standards. NYC, London, and a city in Japan are almost always #1 in their respective countries. I'm not trying to be disrespectful. I think every visitor to the US should visit Miami. It is a unique city, but it not an Alpha city, yet, at least not on the lists.

Sounds like you already have the best of both of worlds. Snowbirds have to pay to live in both places. You get to live at one location for free. Can't beat that at twice the price. Count your blessings. Enjoy.

To me Miami is a great place to vacation at, or to live at if you are already very wealthy. While the city and quite a few shrouding cities along the A1A are definitely a playground for the super rich, the majority of the city is just shockingly poor, it ranks as one of the lowest in terms of average income and one of the highest in terms of % of population below the poverty line for a major US city.

Yes, Miami city proper is segregated and poor. Sounds familiar...
