People don't mean to become obese. In many cases it's hereditary or a combination of eating the wrong food, which nowadays is everywhere(full or preservatives/additives etc..) and not burning more than they put in due to the lifestyle (i.e. working in offices, not having enough time to exercise after work etc..) It's easy to point fingers, harder to resolve the issue.

If your house is in the shade/close to the beach, it is possible to live without A/C. Not sure if it can be done inland though(at least not from June to September) and that would have nothing to do with whether people are overweight or not. I know this guy who is almost 'skin and bones' and complains about the heat as much as anyone else.
Thanks, Captain Obvious. I always wondered how people became obese.

You need to see a dr. Perhaps he/she will remove the obesity from your central unit(that's far worse than the one in the body).

Btw, you've been reported.

Now buzz like a bee.

Obesity is almost entirely due to laziness and poor education about food.Never before in the history of mankind have the poor been fatter than the rich.
You don't become obese by accident but by choice. In what you eat and how much you exercise.
Obesity is the biggest single medical issue facing modern America and it impacts on everyone through higher health bills.
And it should certainly be a crime for parents to allow their kids to become morbidly obese. It's child abuse in exactly the same way as physical violence is towards them.
And here in Florida we can't blame the weaher for being unable to exercise or eat good, healthy food that doesn't cost a fortune.
And it's not hartd to resolve the issue at all.
Eat less,move more.
Eat less.move more.
Eat less,move more.

It should certainly be a crime? Perhaps you should tell that to the millions of obese Americans then, see what kind of response you'll get.

People who smoke and get cancer cause higher health bills too and those are usually not obese(most are skinny). Not sure where you're going with this. Why not whine about that?

2. Malignant neoplasms (cancer)

So do those who smoke and just as many people (if not more), die from that. See above.

No excuses, just facts.

The difference is, of course, that the Government is attempting to reduce the amount of smoking by banning it in public places, banning advertising on TV etc.

But because of the influence of the food/farming lobby and specifically massive corn subsidies which make high fructose corn syrup incredibly cheap and therefore used in just about every processed food you can think of type 2 diabetes and chronic obesity is at epidemic proportions.

You know those super-wide wheelchairs you see at airports and motorised trolleys provided by supermarkets for people too fat to walk ? You won't find them anywhere else in the world other than America.

I visit Europe all the time and sure they have some obese people but it's eye-opening to see most people walking around are the same shape Americans were 30 years ago.

Aha, why the gov has not taken any steps to reduce obesity? Truth is the following top 3 causes of death in the US are also due to smoking. I've seen heavy smokers b*tching about obese people all the time without looking in the mirror. I don't see you singing against smoking though or any other major cause of death.

1. Diseases of heart
2. Malignant neoplasms (cancer)
3. Chronic lower respiratory diseases (such as chronic bronchitis, emphysema, and asthma)

What I know is that you sound as having an agenda due to perhaps personal experiences? When I see obese people I don't put them down. So, who are you to judge others, God? Consider passing criticism to the smokers to be fair!

You must be European because you keep mentioning traveling to Europe(?). UK and some other European countries, even Australia, New Zealand and Canada are on the same boat. It's the Western world lifestyle, nothing more or less. Also, many European countries still boast some of the highest numbers or smokers in the world. In my book that's even worse than obesity.
