Looking at a job offer in Leesburg, coming down for a visit in two weeks, relocating from PA. I'm a medical professional in my 40's, my sig other is in the insurance business in his 50's. We like the feel of small town, local pubs and a laid back area. My biggest concern is safety and it seems that Leesburg has a high crime rate. Mt Dora looks to be the kind of town we might like, and from what I read, it's 17 miles from Leesburg.. We will obviously rent for the first year (have to find a home to rent as we have two dogs, not good for an apartment) to see if we like the area, job etc. We've spent a lot of time in the Tampa Bay/St Pete Area, but not Leesburg. Any advice would be helpful. Thank You!!
