All of those are very true, but i wouldn't let that stop me from moving here. Florida is a place where you need to be street-smart no matter where you live. Some ******* who is trusting of everybody will get eaten alive down here. The truth is Florida is VERY shady as a whole. The crime here is not consolidated in one area like the northeastern cities, it is everywhere. I cannot believe the amount of crime that happens in the nice suburban areas, it is nothing like up north. However all this aside the bulk of crime can still be avoided just by who you associate with *much like everywhere else.

My biggest advice to anyone who moves to Florida is get a gun. I never in my life have felt the need to own one until i moved here. The laws are so relaxed that ALL of the bad guys have them and you do not want to be caught being an easy target. You need to be able to protect yourself and your family in your own house and this is the simplest way.

Well, I mostly agree with this, unfortunately, and this is why I am so negative about migrants moving to my once great state but now sad state of affairs.

Virtually all States have the same people problems. FL just has better weather than say So Cal, but is also less costly.

ANYONE moving should be doing so without expectations they will find paradise or Mayberry or even a perfect place to live. None exist. It is what we do and how we live and the choices we make (Including neighborhoods) that will impact our life the most. I am looking to move to FL from a beautiful place in East Tn. Warmer weather is the primary reason. I will give up the good here to avoid 4 months of cold weather. I also know I can and will find places that are as nice, but in different ways.
