Me too, but the Triangle is still a good place to live.

You'll have to drive on some of the busiest highways in the area for your commute. If you're taking I-40 to I-540 you'll probably being going against the heavy traffic, at least on 540 anyway. There are a lot more bad drivers here now compared to just 10 years ago, but it is nothing like CFL or SFL.

How's this--don't come to Florida and drive as you do in your home state. And could someone please tell me in which states it is normal to cruise in the left lane of the interstate and either drive below the speed limit or not allow others to pass? Huge cause of road rage and accidents.

OptimusPrime would understand if he came up here.
My husband is from Asheville, his parents still live there, we are there all the time and I've never seen what you are talking about. Nor have I ever heard his parents, extended family, etc talk about Florida drivers.

What they do ***** about are NY and NJ drivers.

Yes, and as I've said before, many of them are 'halfbacks'. The move from NY/NJ to FL, then come half way back with FL tags and quickly re-register their vehicles. OR they come directly to the mountains of NC to escape the rat race where they live.

Many NY/NJ and everywhere else in the country have summer homes here and winter in FL -- and keep their FL tags because FL is their primary residence for tax purposes. They are not all bad drivers, every state seems to have their idiosyncrasies with impatient and clueless drivers. Just some in particular more than others are attracted like magnets.

We have some native guys here who think they own the road with their smokin' pickups too. Nobody's perfeckt.

StreetSmartZ is onto something here. Whenever I go up to visit family in the Upstate of SC and Western NC the people act as if I'm moving and talking too fast for them. They act like I'm one of those crazy Floridians who are invading their peaceful little towns. However, Asheville is probably the most unwelcoming, unfriendly, and close minded town in all of the Carolinas and I'm just not into that.

You've got to be kidding?? My inlaws love the influx of people. Their almost worthless land 50 years ago is now worth millions thanks to transients driving up the price of real estate!

My mother in law is also a historian and loves how she can share the history of Asheville with its visitors.
