Hi I My wife and I just purchased a home In Rainbow Springs Forest. We know about the Walmart and Winn Dixie that are close to us. What we don't know is if there are other less obvious places we need to visit and know about. Being new is always a discovery and we are looking forward to discovering the area.
So if you can tell me where the better place are for :

Lunch and Dinner
Nurseries
Home Furnishings
Ranch Supplies
Groceries
Fruit Markets
Farmers Markets
Fish Markets

How about services

Handy man workers
Contractors (elect,plumb, Carpenters)
Auto Mechanics

I hear that Ocala is the place to do your shopping but I am thinking most things can be purchase online these days.

Thanks for the help and look forward to enjoying this area for a long time.

The Ocala Forum versus the General Florida Forum will likely provide more information for you and would suggest posting there. Good luck!

Welcome to the area! I live in Pine Ridge (Citrus County), which is about 20 minutes from Dunnellon and my parents live in Ocala, but are closer to Dunnellon.

For a mechanic, Johnny at Dunnellon Tire. He works on our cars, very nice guy & honest. Good at what he does.
For a handyman, Shawn with Mr. Handy, 352-445-5977. He does it all, the smallest repairs to full remodels. He's exceptional and is A+ rated on Angie's List. He has excellent reviews, is reasonably priced and goes above & beyond.

Pavarotti's has great pizza and Swampy's is fun & has decent seafood.

Good luck & enjoy exploring the area!!
