I just finished a book where the first paragraph talks about how because of all the fatal car accidents in Florida.. people needing organ transplants come here specifically because they have the best shot at getting their needed transplant.

Orlando, Tampa and Miami are the top 3 in the nation in pedestrian/bicycle deaths as well.

Edit:

The top 4 are Orlando, Tampa, Jacksonville and Miami respectively. LOL

That appears to be accurate however 4 cities do not comprise the state of FL.

Just about 2/3 of the population of the state, that's all.

The only thing those 4 cities have in common is retirees (not sure about Jacksonville). So I guess the high percentage of older folks is the contributory problem, not immigrants.

You live in South FL. That's where a large part of the reputation comes from. It's not older people.

There are more older people in South FL than anywhere else in Florida. In fact, the only time I had to dodge someone was due to some old granny merging into my lane without looking (I suspect she couldn't turn because her neck was stiff).
