Dade County now publishing a daily report "Moving To A New Abnormal Daily Dashboard", accessible here.

The latest report, dated August 6th, is accessible here.

The report contains highly useful detailed information for Dade County on hospital infrastructure and hospitalizations and is updated daily.

It also contains week-old mostly useless information from lame State of Florida and lamer CDC.

Compared to most charlatans in so-called public service at all levels of government and the mass media, I have the impression that Dade County executives, both previous and current administrations, have done the best they can.

Take it for what it's worth.

Good Luck!

Florida Hospital Association is reporting 13,348 Covid-19 patients in Florida hospitals now. I am baffled that some insist this is the right way to handle this.

1. Embrace vaccinations
2. Avoid large gatherings, especially indoors
3. Use masking when in proximity indoors in public spaces

Note that the are all less impactful than shutdowns, disease complications, and death.

Need another lock down to put a screech to this. Should have just locked up the Florida border from the beginning. No one in or out for one month. Ban all immigration to Florida for 5 years. Unfortunately Fl's economy is dependent on housing, development, tourism and ever increasing levels of in-migration.

#1 - sure, but some people won’t or can’t get a vaccination. Shouldn’t bother those that are vaccinated.

#2 - sure, hopefully those that are vulnerable will do it

#3 - that doesn’t work for sh*t, dude — aerosolized virus goes right through masks, except N95/100

Funny how you didn’t say anything about embracing a healthier lifestyle.

Ineffective when a virus is endemic. It’s never going away now. Any lockdown (which never worked in the first place) would just destroy the economy. Of course, there are some people who want the latter…

For some global perspective, Times of Israel reporting that, though hospitalizations are at a manageable level, government ministers are discussing the prospect of nationwide lockdown in the midst surging CoViD-19 cases.

Israel has already begun administering third Pfizer mitigative shots.

A quote from chief executive of Israel's healthcare authority, "Although we do not yet have long-term research on the efficacy and safety of the third booster dose, for the personal risk management of any person aged 60 plus, these findings continue to point to the benefit of immunization now, along with careful behavior among adults and avoiding gathering in closed spaces".

Interesting to note from the Dade County data, on some days people with mitigative shots in full effect have accounted for some 10% of hospitalizations. On a less sour note, for several days the County has been reporting zero deaths, and low single-digits per day on average over the past few weeks.

Personally I know already by now several people (and I don't have many friends) who were fully loaded with the mitigative shots, got infected, were laid up at home for about a week with headache and exhaustion, in some cases coughing.

In any case, would seem that most of the surge in Florida is centered in the center, where the fantasy lands are located.

Conclusion from Israel and locally, these mitigative shots significantly mitigate the risk of hospitalization and death, but they do little to prevent infection: avoiding infection and further mitigating the risk of hospitalization still requires careful other mitigative behaviors, and not a green light from the CDC and other actors in political theater to run amok like crazed adolescents, sowing confusing and contributing to a surge in cases.
