Looks like they're prioritizing teachers above other groups within the eligibility group. So, does this mean that Publix is going to change their computer system to give anyone who clicks on the teachers group first short over overs?
Interesting. I was wondering how I got my friend an Appt for MONDAY when I signed up for her last Friday at 7am. Thought that was a little crazy... but Biden announced intentions Wed/Thursday, CVS switched Wed, Publix switched thursday (to allowing all teachers) and I signed her up Friday morning without any issue, gave her a Monday at 945am appt.

Why are Democrats fighting against that? In Florida, the retirement communities are heavily Republican. If Covid were to sweep through the retirement communities, it would swing Florida's demographics in the direction of Democrats.
There are plenty of seniors here who do not live in retirement communities. They spent their careers in Florida and most likely couldn't afford to live in those communities. I don't care to look up the stats, but have they gotten good access to the vaccine?

As one of those seniors- with no desire to live in any retirement community, I would say our access to the vaccines is as good as anyone else's. Though neither I nor my husband are clamoring desperately, spending our waking days searching for a vaccine appointment, and complaining just for complaining's sake as it seems others enjoy doing.

This is pretty much what I've heard about the situation. If a senior wants the vaccine they can get it.

The people complaining about the vaccine distribution are the same ones who complained about tests and testing sites. Now we hardly ever hear about tests and testing sites. That indicates that Florida is doing something right.

There are "hundreds" of vaccine appointments available at the Orange County (Orlando) Convention Center on Friday and Saturday.

Time to widen eligibility.

Remember when I said on one of these threads that I refuse to argue over whether seniors or teachers/police/firefighters should get them first and that I'll just be happy that we appear to be at the point where we can do both? Well, there you go.

Meanwhile.. while 18 to 59 year olds really want the vaccine, sites sit empty all day today. Good job DeSantis, ya moron.

FL seems to be doing ok. Everyone I know (>65) in FL has received a covid vaccination. TP is back on the shelves. No one is waiting outside Publix at 7 am. People are shopping throughout the day. Restaurants are coming back. Tourists are coming back.
