Even though it doesn't directly serve FL, is anyone seeing possible "side effects" of this, such as price increases and shortages? Especially interested in impacts on the panhandle.

North Florida might, I filled up last night without any issue and the prices actually had gone down slightly over the last couple weeks...But I'm in South FL.

My SIL's teeny tiny area in FL west of Tallahassee had no gas earlier, but did several hours later.

As soon as they reported on the news here not to panic and not hoard gas that must have been the trigger for everyone to top off their tanks.

There are shortages here in northeast Florida

There are lines at alot of gas stations in Ocala. I'm sure fuel delivery disruptions are part of the reason, but its obvious panic buying is a big cause of these lines. I imagine this will cause Out of Gas signs by tomorrow. It's also in the food stores. People filling up carts to the top, probably figure they wont have gas to get to the stores. So everything gets bought up. I had trouble buying Bread and water at Walmart this evening.

Seems to me we are being kept in a constant state of panic. One thing after the other that as far as I'm concerned started with 9/11. What's next reports of an Alien Invasion.

I really think this could be attributed to social media. People are so easily manipulated by social media influences and what happened with toilet paper is happening with gasoline. Panic buying!

I don't see it as panic buying but rather habit from living in a disaster-prone place- Florida buys extra gas any time there's a hint of supply chain disruption because if you don't then you risk running out of gas right after a category 3 hurricane has passed through the state.

I mean at the start of the pandemic, there was a run on bottled water even though the pandemic was setting up with a fully intact utilities grid. Again, hurricane habits.

In West Kendall (Miami) there were a couple of NO GAS signs this AM Early. It's like when on TV they start screaming Hurricane and everything starts running out !!

Typical, remember when the Toilet paper ran out in America ???

The Domino Effect.
