A little rain early evening but mostly dark skies and lots of lightning.

Here, near Venice, FL, no signs of rain today (9-22-23), or this weekend.

We've just started getting our almost daily shower about 1 week ago, but Summer's almost over.

Even w/ all the rain we've had the in past week, our Y-T-D shortage is still large in Sarasota & Manatee Counties.

As of yesterday, 9-21-23, most of Sarasota, North Port, & Bradenton are sill in an "extreme", or "severe" drought:

I know SE Florida's been getting more than enough rain this Summer.

How about the center of the state? Orlando? Jax? Panhandle?

I'm pretty sure my area in SW FLA is the worst. The ponds are up today due to the rain we've gotten in the past few days. The grass even looks like its greened up a bit.

We have a long ways to go, to erase our deficit.

I am only talking about the gulf coast. Our normal rains are gone for good. We no longer have a east flow in the summer so the gulf coast gets nothing while inland and east coast gets 7 times the rain i do. I told ya guys out past 140 years FL will become like the ME area of the world on the west coast and see no rain at all as winters go away for good. Without fronts in the fall thru spring we can't get rain.

I have lived here since 04 and never seen a area this dry. Even when i lived in Tampa less than a mile from the airport we never got much rain. So where ever i move there will never be a cane or rain again.

I am in north Pinellas.

My sprinklers run three times a week, unless there is adequate rain. The system automatically monitors the rain and the weather reports and cancels the cycle if there is rain.

For the month of September, of the ten scheduled waterings, only 1 was cancelled (Sept 1st) due to rain. For the past three weeks, there has not been enough rain for the sprinkler system to cancel a run. In September 2022, almost all of the scheduled runs were cancelled due to rain.

August 2023 had rain. Of the thirteen scheduled sprinkler runs, five were cancelled due to rain.

You need to know how much rain you get a month. I had jack all summer and every month was less than half the normal amount. Still at around 20" total for the year and next year will be even worse.
