THIS is the reality for millions of Floridians

Homeowners are finding their premiums are going up two- or three-fold. Some are being suddenly dropped by their provider and forced to find new coverage, and others are learning that some providers are extremely picky about who they will cover or require a laundry list of fixes.

Oh yessssssssssssssssss Florida has wonderful gun laws, school voucher laws and low taxes! Florida also has deeeeeeeeeeelicious stone crabs (which I get free from my crabmonger neighbor every week I'm in town during the season) AND Florida has the best weather anywhere in January and February! Florida also has lots of NON-BEACH secret spots that are gorgeous and no I won't be sharing those!

I know everything bad (grocery prices, homeless people, insurance crisis, pollution, traffic, heat/humidity/mold) and good (everything else) about Florida, since I'm a NATIVE FLORIDIAN, something that very very few are!

Excuse me, I'm off to Gainesville to snap pictures of the rampant homeless problem there, toodles!

I notice you show South Tampa, Maui, and Paris as your locations.

Maybe you can go to Paris and join the protestors there. Lots of very unhappy and dissatisfied people there. They would be sympathique.

The more this issue is brought into the light the more pressure on state officials to do something about this disaster.

This article has very real Floridians telling first hand stories of how they can no longer afford Florida. Too bad you apparently lack empathy.

Not trying to be a wiseguy, but what do YOU think can be done? Florida can't force an insurance company to lower rates or even have a presence here. IMO one of the main problems is fraud, especially in Dade County and other S.Florida areas. The state seems to take a real hands off approach in going after and punishing the perpetrators. I have my own opinion why this is taken so lightly but it's just my opinion.
