Sounds like the tenants could be running a grow house for marijuana with that type of electrical usage lol. When is the last time you entered the apartment? Is there anything in the apartment that could be explaining the extra usage?

What is the usage compared to previous years/tenants? If the place is so well insulated it shouldn't be using that much electricity.

So you and your tenant are using over 2400 kw per month, and you're surprised that you have to pay for it?

My bill for the same period, here in FL, was 1100 KW usage. You can moan and groan about TECO all you want, but its your usage thats your problem.

Crazy usage!

I just looked at my last bill. I'm in a 1200 sf condo. I'm home all the time and keep my A/C at 75. For the billing period June 9th thru Jul 11th, 2023 (32 days) the highest temp was 93 degrees and I used 566 kWh. I guess having someone under, above and on both sides of my condo helps.

They charged me a insane amount back in 04 for one month and that was it for me. I moved out of Danashores in Tampa to a even drier place on the gulf. My last bill was this month was $160. Used to be around 140 a month this time of year.

You’ve got to admit those two points you complained about are tremendously beneficial to you. So why all the negativity?

Just curious: What is their usage during the month of, say, March 2023?
Don't even think i could get my house down to 68f. It stays at 78f and my bedroom from 3 pm till 8pm is around 84f. Even with the house AC on it is in the 80's and i gotta run a winder unit to get it down to 78f.

I keep at 81f when i am at work during the day.

[quote=GreggT;65573115]Guess you don't realize that folks actually go to school to learn risk (actuary) and set rates based experience. Not much you can do about others driving habits!

You do realize you live in hurricane valley?

Ytue, folks want to live in Florida, driving demand plus due to the weather, construction requirements are costly.

No more than anyplace else in fact in some cases they are less! We can thank the Biden administration and their war on fossil fuels.

You live in Florida!! It is hot!!

Well do something about it, seal your cracks, insulate, change your windows, get a more efficient A/C unit instead of whining!

Buy a place on the beach then!
Op lives in a hurricane dead zone. Nothing since 1921.

Florida state parks family annual pass is about $120/year. The down side is that the state parks here tend to fill up early during peak tourist season.

America the Beautiful annual national parks pass is $80. We get one o every year partly for vacation fun and partly because the tourists tend to avoid the Fort Pickens and Opal Beach parts of Gulf Islands National Seashore because there is no day rate to enter, only a weekly or annual pass option. There’s always parking at those beaches.

Sometimes, neighbors will tap into your line w/o your knowlege, so you are paying for 2 homes.

You'd think that would throw the main breaker, but I've read of this happening.

Something strange is going on which is why I recommended the audit.
