Rumor has it they are building a Super Target in North Port near Price and Toledo Blade. Can anyone confirm this?

According to a friend of my daughter, who is involved in the construction at Price and Toledo Blade, A Super Target will be one of the stores built.

Yup, it is now under construction. Additionally a 3rd Publix will be coming to North Port. The new Home Depot and Super Wally World are now open. In addition over 1 million sf of office space is presently proposed.
The Bass Pro is approximately 45 minutes south in the Ft. Myers area.

Publix, Target Super Center and Lowes
Publix Shopping Center will be located on the corner of Price and Toledo Blade in North Port, FL, (Toledo Price Commons) There is talk that Lowes is also to be located on Toledo Blade, the Target Super Center is tentivally going on Sumter Blvd & Price. you can see the Plan Design for Toledo Price Commons and phone information on
www.loopnet.com prices ranging from 18.00 to 25.00 sq. ft.

Target in North Port
It is my understanding that the Traget you mention will in fact be on the corner of Toledo Blade and Price but there will also be a Publix Supermarket. Since Publix is a grocery store, It is most likely that the Target will be a regular Target, not a Super Target. Super Targets sell groceries and that would be in direct competition with Publix. I don't see Publix EVER allowing that to happen. They always have a "no competition" clause in their contracts.
